Most seem to work when they are new. After the first month it's down hill all the way. Also, after having problems with another brand and was looking for something that was vet recommended. This comes with that recommendation. However the proof is in the pudding as they say -- or in this case the pussy cat. This stuff does what is say. It stops fleas. So do your pets the favor. They will thank you. It's given once a month on their shoulder blades. Nothing I have ever used works this good. Enough said. Caution: Some cats get determined to twist themselves in a pretzel to lick this. I can caused them to foam at the mouth and make them hyper for about 24 hours after. Solution is easy. Take an old sock and trim the toes for an opening for kitty's head and the cut two arm holes. Makes a kitty' vest and will keep them from licking their shoudlers. Keep them in it for about 24-36 hours. No... I've used powders, I've used flea dips and flea shampoos and sprays flea combs.I then even resorted to garlic in their diets and on their fur..........nothing worked. Then I tried Frontline, with my discouragement. Fleas are tough ! Frontline got rid of my ENTIRE FLEA PROBLEM. 123 of 140 people found the following review helpful: By This review is from: Merial Frontline Plus Flea and Tick Control for Cats and Kittens, 6 Doses (Misc.) My 8 year old cat suffered what my vet called 'a rare allergic reaction' to this product. The vet also said 'too bad, too, as it is the best product of its kind on the market'. Within 24 hours of its application, my cat had bald burned spot about the size of two quarters. The skin looks like a chemical burn - irritated, pink and bit gooey. The vet said to apply OTC topical hydrocortisone cream and that it is possible the fur will not grow back in the affected area. In any case, the cat is on the mend. I called the toll free number on the Frontline box and spoke with a vet tech. He documented the cat's reaction and medical condition. He also said to send the remaining product back to Frontline for a full refund, which was a nice surprise. I am not saying not to use this product, just keep an eye on your pet if you do. |

| 6 of 6 people found the following review helpful: By The makers claim that Frontline Plus kills all fleas and prevents re-infestation for up to one month. For 'paralysis tick' protection, bi-weekly application is recommended but results are not guaranteed. The product comes in a number of 'pipettes' that contain an oily-sticky liquid that is applied on the back of the dog's neck's, on the skin (must part the coat until the skin is visible). The makers recommend monthly applications. I found it easy to treat the dogs. Given the relatively high price of this product, I've been using one pipette for our 2 puppies. As they are now big, this may no longer be an option but I can see how this option could be a money saver for anyone who has 2 'not so... We put Frontline on both our dogs and our cat (the feline version, of course.) We flea-bathed them first. We vacuumed well, and washed bedding. Two weeks later, they all still have fleas, and I'm still getting bitten around the house. I tried their 800 number, on the packaging, but only got very elaborate multi-level voice mail, which is maddening. I tried their website, and again, there's no way to communicate with a live person, not by email, nor by chat. Apparently they're doing their best to dodge consumer feedback. I did go through their online "why do we still have fleas" quiz. According to that, we still have fleas because -- shock, surprise -- there are still fleas outside. Apparently you have to somehow magically be transported to a flea-free environment, or never let your animals outside, not even for a walk, for Frontline to be effective. It seems to me that a flea treatment that doesn't work where there are fleas is worthless garbage... Read more 6 of 8 people found the following review helpful: By I called frontline customer line and told them this. The woman said that this was perfectly normal, and that frontline is not a preventative tick medicine. Frontline works by killing ticks within 24-48 hours of biting into the dog!!! Doing a little research online I found that 36hrs is the average time that a Tick could potentially begin to transmit Lyme disease. Some ticks begin transmitting the disease immediately. Dog owners need to know that frontline is better than nothing, and will kill ticks, but not necessarily before they are able to transmit disease to your dog.... This fact was confirmed by frontline's customer support line. |

| 5 of 5 people found the following review helpful: By Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?) This review is from: Frontline Plus 3 Month for Cats (Misc.) I purchased frontline British version. My cat on the other hand started to break out in red blisters on his stomach and I started to notice fleas on him. This made me very suspicious for what I thought to be strange packaging and had written off as British packaging. When I went online and saw pictures for fake packaging for Frontline. 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful: By Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?) This review is from: Frontline Plus 3 Month for Cats (Misc.) Frontline seems to be more effective on winter than on summer. My long hair cat got 4 ticks last summer but zero fleas. I haven`t tried other brands yet. I would like the package easier to open without having to use scissors, it gets very messy sometimes. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful: By Linda Reese (Hookstown, PA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?) This review is from: Frontline Plus 3 Month for Cats (Misc.) This by far is the best product for my cat that had already had fleas. Within two days the fleas were gone. I will continue to use this product every month until the summer months are over. Thank you |
